I Got Myself a Dollhouse!

OK, I’m ready to admit that I have indulged my childhood dreams and got myself a dollhouse-shaped bookshelf. It’s practical, right? It can hold books, sewing supplies, or other items. Even though it’s practical, it doesn’t hurt to decorate it a bit!

Of course, I’m starting with a sewing room! I even have a tiny clock hanging on the wall. The sewing machine is a music box that I’ve had for several years.

The clock is a pocket watch I designed (available at Zazzle.com), and then I removed the front lid. I had to cringe as I destroyed the hinges…but it was worth it!

The wallpaper is my “Small-Scale Flowers in Rose, Yellow, and Peach” design from Spoonflower.com. I only needed a sample swatch of peel-and-stick wallpaper to decorate this little room.

I’m so delighted with this little project! I’ll decorate my dollhouse slowly, enjoying each addition. I have so many ideas of fun things I can make for it!

My new hobby has had the added benefit of finding several bloggers to follow!

Michele, aka The Dreaming Dilettante, has started renovating her childhood dollhouse. She also posted a video about making mini journals– the perfect size for a dollhouse! I’ve already started working on some mini journals for my dollhouse.
